The barn itself is constructed from the
original stone and cob that is typical of
Exmoor. The interior is mainly wood and stone, sympathetically renovated
to retain as much of the original as is practical.
The spacious main living room is on the
first floor and has high, vaulted ceilings, and excellent views from large
windows. There is a wood
stove in the centre of the room, with a sofa bed and futon converting to double
beds, if required. Next to
the sitting room is the second bedroom and en suite bathroom, which can be
accessed from the living room.
On the ground floor there
is a well equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven and microwave.
The table and kitchen facilities accommodate a maximum of 6.
Also on the ground floor are the large family bathroom
and main bedroom, which has a king size bed and en suite toilet. Doors lead
from the bedroom onto a small patio.
Virvale Barn has night storage heating
throughout, as well as the central wood burning stove, providing a cosy
atmosphere, whatever the time of year.
